The Sagamore Golf Club
I’ve played there for a decade, a Donald Ross classic! New ownership in 2008 and the “facelift” has been amazing! Staff is 5 star as is the location. The course is about a mile up the hill from Bolton Landing, almost 1000 feet above sea level. Quaint but full of character, Bolton boasts its own brewery and dozens of dining opportunities abound. One of my favorites is Cate’s Italian Garden, pizza out of this world but everything on the menu is “Eccellente”! Of course, The Sagamore Hotel is the #1 handicap hole within a hundred miles or more. Historic with views of the Queen of American Lakes that rival anything in the world. Bring your A-game and enjoy a “Stay and Play”…
Honored by Golf Magazine as one of its Silver Medal Resorts, the 18-hole Sagamore Golf Course commands stunning views of Lake George and was designed and built under Donald Ross’s personal supervision in 1928. In classic Ross fashion, The Sagamore Golf Course uses the natural environment to give each hole its challenge and beauty. Lush fairways are narrow and lined with hardwoods, while deep bunkers surround undulating greens. The Sagamore’s par 70, championship course is located on the mainland and features a practice range, professional instruction and an award-winning Pro Shop. Shuttle service is provided between the golf course and the resort. Discover the Sagamore Resort & Golf Club @ TheSagamore.com
